DMK president M.K. Stalin has asked party workers to be ready to bring down Tamil Nadu's TVK-led government, questioning whether Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay's administration would last even six months, The Hindu reported.

"I had said this government would last only for six months. Now, the situation has reached a point whether this government would even last for six months," Stalin said at a wedding in Chennai on Sunday.

"Even TVK voters regret it"

Stalin recalled that when the DMK-led alliance won in 2021, he had promised governance so good that even those who did not vote for it would regret not doing so. Now, he said, people who voted for the TVK were regretting their choice.

The DMK's charges

He claimed newspapers carried daily reports of rising prices, administrative failures, sexual offences, murders and robberies under the new government, along with power cuts and, over the past week, reports of children being kidnapped.

Referring to the government's Singappen Special Force, he said, "Now, a situation has arisen in which another force has to be formed to protect the Singappen Special Force."

Stalin said Vijay had framed the 2026 election as a contest only between the TVK and the DMK. "Now, the people of Tamil Nadu must have clearly understood who the real evil force is," he said.
