Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana will not stop for traditional song sequences, according to a Variety report cited by The Times of India. Its songs will play as part of the background score.

"Because we don't live in an era where you stop the film and play a four-minute song. That time has gone now," the report said.

"Jai Jai Ram"

One of the tracks is "Jai Jai Ram", an aarti for Shri Ram. Choreographer Shiamak Davar has worked on its visuals, especially the large outdoor temple sequences, and it is expected to be a key part of the film's music.

Part 2 already under way

Large portions of Ramayana Part 2 have reportedly been filmed. The rest will be shot after Part 1 reaches cinemas, partly to fit the cast's schedules. Sunny Deol, who plays Hanuman, has extensive work still to film in that later phase.

No Amitabh for Jatayu

The report dismissed rumours that Amitabh Bachchan would voice Jatayu: "There was no plan to use Mr. Bachchan's voice for Jatayu." The makers are holding back other casting details and cameos. "There are many surprises in store," they said.

Ramayana: Part 1, also titled Ramayana: The Rise of a Legend, releases worldwide around Diwali, on November 5–6. Ranbir Kapoor plays Rama, as well as Parashurama and Vishnu, with Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana, Sunny Deol as Hanuman and Ravie Dubey as Lakshmana.
