Nepal has also resumed sending 40 MW to Bangladesh through India's grid, a supply halted after the August floods damaged two hydropower plants.

Nepal exported about NPR 5.92 billion (roughly $39 million) of electricity to India between mid-September and mid-October, the Nepal Electricity Authority said.

Exports had been briefly disrupted by the August flash floods, which killed around 1,400 people.

On October 23, Nepal resumed exporting 40 MW of power to Bangladesh through India's transmission network.
