The Bombay High Court stopped the Census Commissioner from notifying Goa's ST population, a step needed to reserve four Assembly seats
The Goa government will file a special leave petition in the Supreme Court by Wednesday against a Bombay High Court stay, officials said.
The High Court barred the Census Commissioner from notifying Goa's estimated ST population, which was presumed at 9.9% from the 2001 Census.
The order puts in doubt the reservation of four Assembly seats for Scheduled Tribes ahead of the 2027 polls.
