The 24th instalment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) will be paid on October 30, before Diwali. Each eligible farmer will receive ₹2,000 directly in their bank account, The Indian Express reported. The date was announced on the scheme's official social media handle.
According to The Indian Express, ₹18,680 crore will be paid to 9.34 crore farmers in this instalment.
Check these before the payment
- **e-KYC:** it is mandatory. Farmers can complete it through the OTP option on the PM-Kisan portal, or with biometric verification at a Common Service Centre.
- **Aadhaar and bank account:** the account must be linked to Aadhaar and enabled for Direct Benefit Transfer. Wrong details can hold up the payment.
- **Land records:** these must be verified. If the records are incomplete, contact the local agriculture department office.
How to check your status
1. Go to the official PM-Kisan website, pmkisan.gov.in. 2. Open the Farmers Corner section and select Know Your Status. 3. Enter your registration number, then complete the captcha and OTP. 4. Check the instalment and eligibility details shown.
If anything is missing, get help from the agriculture department or a Common Service Centre.
Why it matters
PM-Kisan is one of the Centre's flagship schemes. It pays eligible farmer families ₹6,000 a year in three instalments of ₹2,000. It was launched in 2018 and began payments in 2019.
The Union Cabinet approved continuing the scheme from 2026-27 to 2030-31 in July, with a total outlay of ₹3.15 lakh crore. By June 2026, more than ₹4.47 lakh crore had been paid to farmers through 23 instalments, The Indian Express reported. Coming before Diwali and the rabi sowing season, the payment lands when farm households need cash most.
