Karnataka has raised fares on all four state-run bus corporations from midnight on Wednesday, November 4.
KSRTC fares rise about 23% on average and BMTC fares in Bengaluru 33-35%; the minimum BMTC fare goes from ₹6 to ₹10.
Transport minister Byrathi Suresh blamed diesel, spare-part and wage costs, saying the corporations lose about ₹2,000 crore a year.
