The Commissioner's affidavit lists seven 60-day prohibitory orders issued from August, citing July's violent protests; Jantar Mantar Road was left out of two of them
Delhi Police have told the Supreme Court that seven prohibitory orders in New Delhi were issued between August 19 and September 26, before the October 10 protest against the Chief Election Commissioner.
The orders, each for up to 60 days, were passed without hearing objections and banned meetings, slogans and gatherings of five or more.
Petitioners allege around 7,000 people were illegally detained during the October 10-11 protests; the police defend the orders as preventive.
