A fire in a parking area in Chinchwad, near Pune, destroyed 17 two-wheelers and four cars and injured one man, officials said on Thursday, according to PTI.
The fire broke out around midnight on Wednesday in the parking lot of the Kunal Market building at Chapekar Chowk.
The rescue
The Pimpri-Chinchwad fire brigade's main station received a call about the blaze at 1.59 am and sent two fire tenders, fireman Vivek Patil told PTI. Some people were stranded on the upper floor of the building, and the team rescued them. Firefighters put out the flames with hose reels.
One person was injured.
What is known so far
Some of the 17 two-wheelers destroyed were electric vehicles, PTI reported. Officials said the cause of the fire has not yet been found.
