Om Jai Lakshmi Mata

  1. Om jai Lakshmi Mata, (maiya) jai Lakshmi Mata. Tumko nisidin sevat Har-Vishnu-Dhata. Om.

Glory to you, Mother Lakshmi. Shiva, Vishnu and Brahma serve you day and night.

  2. Uma, Rama, Brahmani, tum hi jag-mata. Surya-Chandrama dhyaavat, Narad rishi gaata. Om.

You are Uma, Rama and Brahmani; you alone are the mother of the world. The sun and the moon meditate on you, and the sage Narada sings your praise.

  3. Durgaroop niranjani, sukh-sampati daata. Jo koi tumko dhyaavat, riddhi-siddhi-dhan paata. Om.

You are a form of Durga, pure, the giver of happiness and wealth. Whoever meditates on you gains success, accomplishment and riches.

  4. Tum paataal-nivaasini, tum hi shubhdaata. Karm-prabhaav-prakaashini, bhavnidhi ki traata. Om.

You dwell even in the netherworld, and you alone bring what is auspicious. You reveal the fruit of our deeds and carry us across the ocean of worldly life.

  5. Jis ghar tum rahti, tahan sab sadgun aata. Sab sambhav ho jaata, man nahin ghabraata. Om.

Every virtue comes to the home where you live. There everything becomes possible, and the mind is free of worry.

  6. Tum bin yagya na hote, vastra na ho paata. Khaan-paan ka vaibhav sab tumse aata. Om.

Without you there would be no sacred rites and no clothing. All the abundance of food and drink comes from you.

  7. Shubh-gun-mandir sundar, Kshirodadhi-jaata. Ratna chaturdash tum bin koi nahin paata. Om.

You are the beautiful home of every good quality, born of the ocean of milk. Without you, no one gains the fourteen jewels.

  8. Mahalakshmi (ji) ki aarti, jo koi nar gaata. Ur aanand samaata, paap utar jaata. Om.

Whoever sings this aarti of Mahalakshmi is filled with joy at heart, and their sins fall away.
