New Zealand will be without Matt Henry and Lockie Ferguson for the third T20I against India in Wellington on Tuesday, as they rotate their fast bowlers in what New Zealand Cricket called "planned workload management", ESPNcricinfo reported. India lead the five-match series 2-0.

Who is in and out

  • Matt Henry stays in Christchurch and misses the last three T20Is. He will join the squad in Auckland for the first ODI on November 4.
  • Lockie Ferguson skips Wellington and goes to Auckland, to be available for the fourth and fifth T20Is on October 30 in Auckland and November 1 in Hamilton.
  • Kyle Jamieson, who did not play the first two games, travels to Wellington and then plays for Canterbury in the Ford Trophy before the ODIs.
  • Blair Tickner joins for the last three T20Is, and Josh Clarkson for the last two.
  • Matt Fisher covers for the third T20I only, before returning to New Zealand A for their second four-day match against India A.

Jacob Duffy and all-rounder Nathan Smith are the other fast bowlers in the squad.

"Fortunate with the depth"

"We're very fortunate with the depth in the squad to be able to call upon different players to help manage our pacers' workloads," New Zealand head coach Rob Walter said.

India won both games in Christchurch by four wickets. After the T20Is, the teams play five ODIs and two Tests, with the tour ending in early December.
