Telangana sets up mandal committees to tackle El Niño impact
The panels will run water conservation, fodder and rural job works as the State braces for a dry spell that could last until July 2027.

Telangana has ordered coordination committees in all rural mandals to soften the impact of El Niño on water, farming, livestock and livelihoods.
Chaired by the mandal parishad development officer, they will plan works from fodder in 35,959 minor irrigation tanks to check dams and cattle troughs.
The Chief Minister has warned that the water and power crunch could last until July 2027.
