Rural jobs scheme to fund fodder, cattle sheds and milk centres

The Centre's advisory lists 22 livestock-related works under VB-G RAM G and asks states to move towards spending at least 5% of the programme on them

The rural development and animal husbandry departments have told states to use the VB-G RAM G rural jobs scheme for fodder and livestock works.

The joint advisory picks 22 of the scheme's 375 permitted works, including fodder banks, pastures, cattle sheds, milk collection centres and veterinary centres.

States are encouraged to move towards spending at least 5% of total programme expenditure on such works where local plans support it.
