Centre sets up social security board for gig workers
The board, under the Code on Social Security, will recommend and monitor welfare schemes for gig, platform and unorganised workers.

The Labour Ministry has notified the National Social Security Board for Unorganised Workers and Gig and Platform Workers.
Chaired by the Union Labour Minister, it includes aggregator companies, unions, gig worker associations and State governments.
It will recommend welfare schemes, monitor central schemes and review spending from the fund, meeting at least three times a year.
