Karnataka's final voter roll drops 99 lakh names after SIR

The electorate has shrunk from 5.54 crore to 4.55 crore; most deletions were of voters who had moved or could not be found, not people found ineligible.

Karnataka's final electoral roll after the Special Intensive Revision lists 4,55,00,011 voters, down from 5,54,32,314.

The biggest group of deletions, 80.62 lakh, was voters who had shifted or were not found at their address.

The CEO's office says an enrolment drive will follow to add back genuine voters who were removed.
