An Ernakulam court hearing appeals against bail for a 17-year-old in the fatal Cheranalloor car crash asked police for data on similar cases.
It wants to know whether BNS Section 105, culpable homicide not amounting to murder, has been invoked in other crashes involving juvenile drivers in Kerala.
The judge warned the investigating officer he would be answerable if the section had been used only in this case.
