A Water Satyagraha household survey warns of a 600 MLD shortfall after a 43% monsoon deficit, and says families in slums lean on private tankers
Poor families in Bengaluru spend about ₹3,000 a month on drinking water, more than the ₹2,000 Gruha Lakshmi payment, a campaign survey says.
The Water Satyagraha campaign predicts a shortfall of over 600 million litres a day in the city's supply.
The campaign's convenor, KPCC vice-president Syed Ahmed Hussain, says the BWSSB cannot regulate private tanker prices.
