Poultry industry wants live chicken held at ₹110 a kg

Breeders meeting in Hyderabad call the recent price fall seasonal and will press Delhi for duty-free non-GM maize as feed costs rise

Poultry industry leaders meeting in Hyderabad on Monday agreed to work towards a benchmark price of ₹110 a kg for live chicken.

They called the recent fall in broiler prices largely seasonal, linked to lower consumption during the festival period.

They will meet government representatives in New Delhi next week to seek duty-free imports of non-GM maize, a key feed.
