Hindustan Construction Company (HCC) reported a 52.8% fall in consolidated net profit to ₹22.56 crore for the July–September quarter of 2026-27, from ₹47.78 crore a year earlier, the company said in a regulatory filing, The Economic Times reported.

Total income fell to ₹925.15 crore from ₹983.25 crore, while expenses dropped to ₹889.98 crore from ₹938.72 crore.

Standalone versus consolidated

The two sets of numbers tell different stories, which is why some reports describe HCC's profit as flat and others as down by half.

  • Standalone, which covers HCC alone, net profit was about ₹36.8 crore, almost unchanged from ₹36.7 crore, ScanX reported. Revenue from operations fell 6.5% to ₹895.8 crore, and the EBITDA margin narrowed to 12.2% from 16.1%.
  • Consolidated, which includes subsidiaries, profit fell 52.8%, driven mainly by higher tax expenses and lower other income than a year earlier, according to ScanX.

Lower interest costs helped. HCC prepaid ₹100 crore of debt in the quarter and plans another ₹108 crore by December 2026, and standalone finance costs fell 26.4% to ₹82.6 crore, ScanX reported.

Orders and projects

  • New orders worth ₹524 crore in the quarter.
  • Lowest bidder on projects worth ₹2,010 crore, of which HCC's share is ₹1,557 crore.
  • Bids worth ₹34,805 crore under evaluation, and an order book of ₹12,901 crore, 62% of it in transport.
  • On the Indore and Patna Metro projects, factory acceptance tests of the first tunnel boring machines were completed, and two machines have been lowered at Indore.

New CEO

HCC appointed Vivek Singhal as chief executive officer from November 5, 2026. He has more than four decades of experience in infrastructure and EPC, the company said.
