Bitcoin fell more than 4% to a six-week low of $77,646 after a $6.3 billion breach at Binance, which may be the largest crypto theft on record.
Binance said the attack began with a hacked DevOps engineer's laptop; it froze about $3 billion and promised to cover all losses.
Analytics firm TRM Labs said the hack bears the marks of earlier thefts linked to North Korea.
